The Internet, Safety, Passwords and PINs... The internet is a powerful tool that allows people to send and receive information from anywhere in the world. It is also called the Web, the Net, or the World Wide Web (WWW). Because the internet connects millions of people, it is important to follow safety rules at all times. One important rule is to protect your private information. Never share your full name, age, phone number, home address, school name, or passwords online. Passwords and PINs Some passwords are very weak and easy to guess. If a stranger asks questions, sends links, or requests photos, you should stop, close the page, and tell a trusted adult immediately. Think before you click.
